NEW MASONRY ADHESIVE EARNS GREENGUARD CERTIFICATIONS Rockland, MA (May 25, 2007): The GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI) has awarded GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality® and GREENGUARD Children & Schools® certifications to MASON BOND® from ITW TACC. MASON BOND is a patented new adhesive that dramatically reduces the cost of block construction. MASON BOND is applied from quart and standard caulk tubes and is used to bond CMUs, brick, stone, rock, wood and many other materials. Independent tests have shown that MASON BOND provides over three times the strength of mortar when building with concrete masonry units. “GREENGUARD certification demonstrates MASON BOND’s versatility and ease of use,” said ITW TACC Business Unit Manager Tim Walsh. “MASON BOND performs admirably in difficult outdoor climates. Meeting GREENGUARD’s stringent requirements make its indoor use more evident.” MASON BOND is the latest GREENGUARD certified product from ITW TACC, joining Z Solvent-Free contact adhesive and a line of HVAC duct sealants. All of these products assist in earning up to three LEED® credit points. ITW TACC, a division of Illinois Tool Works Inc., manufacturers leading professional and industrial adhesives.
